Senate committee introduces Idaho Travel Insurance Act resolution

Representative Rod Furness presented RS 32519, the Idaho Travel Insurance Act, saying the measure updates Idaho law by adopting a nationally recognized model to clarify how travel-insurance claims and coverage apply across states.
Furness said the bill is based on the model act used by the National Council of Insurance Legislators and has been vetted by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. "In February as of this month, 37 states have enacted this model act," he told the committee, and he said he was not aware of opposition.
The committee moved to introduce RS 32519 and the motion carried by voice vote. The resolution advances as a state-level adoption of a uniform model to aid cross‑state recognition of travel‑insurance claims and processes.
