Belgrade School District business staff presented the FY'25 trustee financial summary and then the board adopted the FY'26 budgets for the elementary and high-school districts.
The finance presentation (speaker 6) outlined transfers into fund 182, reappropriations, and tuition-out payments the district must make to other districts for students who attend elsewhere. Staff cited elementary tuition-out at roughly $32,833 and high-school tuition-out at about $12,271. Finance staff also noted a recent decline in the district’s taxable value due to changes in state tax treatment and an assessment freeze, which alters mills but not the district's raw revenue requirement.
The board discussed line-item changes, contractor costs (noting some personnel costs shifted to contractors), and reductions in transportation and retirement lines where reappropriations allowed lower levies. After questions and a short public-comment opportunity (none), the board approved the FY'25 summary and adopted the FY'26 budgets by unanimous votes.
Trustees asked for follow-up details comparing this year to prior years and requested staff supply the budget comparison pages referenced in the presentation.
