Council approves site change and six‑month extension for SG Atkins co‑housing project

The proposed new location is behind the Enterprise Center — land owned by the nonprofit — and is larger than the original 0.17‑acre lot on North Patterson. Staff said the wider site can better accommodate the project and that moving to a parcel owned by SG Atkins simplifies site control.
The service model will change slightly: the project was originally planned for five mothers with children and will now generally serve four. Staff also requested a six‑month contract extension (the contract would move from a December 31 expiration to June 30 in the following year) to allow the project to relocate and complete necessary steps.
The committee moved and seconded the item and approved the site change, service modification and contract extension by voice vote.
