Parks & Recreation staff and council members said the senior drop-in center is progressing toward a late‑March opening; staff circulated a survey and reported strong community response. The town previously submitted a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to support bathroom improvements at LaGrange Park, an item the board finalized during a recent special meeting.
Sherry DeLucia, who introduced herself at the meeting, said she is excited to serve and to help bring the center to life after meeting with staff and partners. “I can’t wait to make this come to light,” she told the board.
Council member John Grasso and parks staff encouraged seniors to register for upcoming senior social events and noted summer employment applications and camp‑staff interviews are under way. The board congratulated DeLucia on her appointment.
What happens next: The town expects to open the senior drop-in center by the end of March and staff will provide additional details about programming and registration ahead of the opening.
