The New Rockford City Commission voted unanimously March 3 to raise the city water base rate to $21.50 and the usage fee to $6.00 per 1,000 gallons, and to increase the mosquito-spraying fee to $1.50, all effective June 1, 2025.
Committee member Ystaas moved to increase the water base rate and the per-1,000-gallon usage fee; Belquist seconded. In a roll-call vote President Stuart Richter, Fleming, Ystaas, Dauenhauer and Belquist each voted 'aye' and the motion carried.
President Stuart Richter then moved to raise the mosquito-spraying fee to $1.50, and Dauenhauer seconded; the commission voted unanimously to approve the increase. Both fee changes are scheduled to take effect June 1, 2025.
The rate adjustments were recorded under Old Business and were adopted after the commission reviewed staff recommendations included in the agenda packet. The motion and roll-call vote were the formal actions recorded in the public minutes.
The commission set no additional qualifiers or staggered implementation dates for the fee changes during the meeting. The next regular commission meeting is scheduled for April 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall.
