Myrtle Creek council approves three nuisance-liens, appoints fire commissioners and donates $250 to LOC Foundation

Joanna Bilbrey, the city recorder, presented three resolutions to establish liens for costs associated with failure to abate nuisances on properties at 820 Bond Street (Resolution 24-21), 650 Riverside Drive (Resolution 24-22), and 127 NW Division Street (Resolution 24-23). Councilor Robert Chaney moved to approve Resolution 24-21; Councilor Diana Larson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Councilor Larson moved to approve Resolution 24-22; Councilor Susan Harris seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Councilor Larson then moved to approve Resolution 24-23; Councilor Bill Burnett seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, Mayor Matthew Hald appointed Councilor Susan Harris and Councilor Bill Burnett to serve on the Board of Fire Commissioners, as required by Myrtle Creek Municipal Code section 2.05. The appointment followed the council's internal review of the code language.
City Recorder Joanna Bilbrey presented a donation request from the League of Oregon Cities Foundation; Councilor Susan Harris moved to donate $250 and Councilor Bill Burnett seconded. The council voted unanimously to approve the donation.
All recorded votes on motions at the Sept. 17 meeting carried unanimously. No contested votes or abstentions were recorded; the council took no action to rescind or amend the approved resolutions at the meeting.
