Union Township approves multiple teacher hires and accepts middle-school principal's resignation

The Union Township Board of Education approved a package of personnel actions on May 18 that included new hires, rehires and an administrative resignation.
On the superintendent's recommendation, the board appointed Cassandra Myers as an elementary teacher at Step 8 MA ($71,335), Rachel Fitzpatrick as an elementary teacher Step 1 BA ($56,275), Julie Crovelli as a preschool teacher Step 5 BA ($59,775), Evan Wooby as middle school health/PE teacher Step 1 BA ($56,275) and Samantha Klett as a Grade 6 ELA teacher (Step 8 BA, $66,335) for the 2026—2027 school year. The minutes state salaries are subject to change pending contract negotiations.
The board also approved rehire lists for non-tenured and tenured teachers, paraprofessionals and other non-teaching staff for 2026—2027 and approved substitutes for the 2025—2026 school year. In a separate personnel action the board accepted, "with regret," the resignation of Kerry Foote, Middle School Principal, effective July 1, 2026.
All personnel motions were presented as consent agenda items and carried by roll call vote. The minutes attribute the recommendations to the Chief School Administrator, Dr. Barbara Popp, and list movers and seconders for the consent motions.
