Christopher Miller, a developer with Beyond Shelter, told the commission the amendment would bolster applications for low‑income housing tax credits and help a planned 76‑unit affordable senior housing project that expects to leverage roughly $22 million in private equity and public funding.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval at its recent meeting. The city commission adopted the amendment by voice vote during the public hearing and directed staff to move forward with the amendment as presented.
