Deborah Lee Allen, the property owner and applicant, said she moved to the home in 2021 and described the existing taller fence behind the duplex as “in bad shape” after a recent storm, with at least one panel coming out completely and some posts loose. “My neighbor on that side came over and wired up and put it back on,” she said, explaining that a prior owner had added wiring to keep pets in; she said she was not opposed to omitting that wiring but left it as an option.
The procedural motion to approve the application was offered by a committee member and seconded; the Chair clarified that the approval includes the wiring option, saying, “And to be clear, that includes the wire. We have no issue with the wire.” Members voiced no opposition and the motion passed.
The application requested a replacement fence matching the opposite side in height and appearance, painted black, extending from the back of the garage along the rear yard. Allen provided the property address for the record: 528 East Liberty Street.
The public hearing opened and closed with no other members of the public speaking. Following the vote, members moved to adjourn the meeting.
