School board approves contracts and bid ads for 2025 GO bond projects

Administration asked the board to accept a letter of engagement with Gilman Corporation in the amount of $110,450 to provide construction-management services for main gym bleachers and HVAC work at the high school and middle school. The board approved the engagement by voice vote.
The board also approved a revised professional services agreement with Schmidt Associates. Administration said the contract’s value increased from $170,000 to $227,357 and that costs will be paid from the 2025 GO bond. A motion to accept the updated architect and engineering agreement passed unanimously.
Officials granted administration permission to advertise bids in two newspapers, with procurement dates the administration listed as: first advertisement July 31, construction documents available to bidders on Aug. 7 (pre-bid meeting at the School Town of Highland administration building), bid opening Aug. 26 at 10:30 a.m., and a recommendation of contracts on Sept. 15 at the regular board meeting. The board approved the bid advertisement request.
The board’s approvals allow the district to proceed with contractor selection and scheduling for the referenced gym and HVAC projects under the GO bond timetable.
