Principal Planner James Dealaman introduced the amendments, answering councilors' questions about Table 4.2.3 (minimum heights), Sec. 4.9.1.C (off-street parking for Maine Street frontages in GM6), and Sec. 5.2.8.C (façade materials). After the public hearing was closed, the Council agreed to waive the rules and proceed with a vote.
Councilor Kathy Wilson moved to adopt the amendments, with Councilor Steve Weems seconding. The motion carried with nine yeas. A copy of the adopted ordinance will be attached to the official minutes.
Supporters said the amendments respond to design and parking concerns raised during the Town’s planning process; Planner Dealaman provided technical clarifications in response to councilors' questions. The Council's action finalizes the text changes approved at the meeting and sends the ordinance to the permanent record for posting.
