St. Albans council approves minutes and finance recommendation; announces community events and openings

The St. Albans City Council approved the July 6 meeting minutes and accepted a finance committee recommendation by voice vote during its July 20 meeting. The chair moved and the motion was seconded; after a voice vote the chair said "motion carries." No roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript.

Council members used the meeting’s announcements section to list upcoming committee meetings — MS4/MUC, the financial committee, public works and parks — and to promote neighborhood events. One councilor (S8) told colleagues there is "a very real potential that this is my last council meeting, serving on city council" because he is a finalist for a county commission appointment; he said he expected to know more after a Thursday appointment process.

Other announcements included community events such as 'Saturday night on Old Main' concert/movie nights, a Montanaros ribbon-cutting and a Red Cross blood drive.
