Child Support Office: payroll under budget, contractual costs exceed due to Jefferson County contract

Child Support Office Supervisor Michelle Alexy reported May 18 that payroll spending is below budget because of an unfilled vacancy and that contractual expenses have exceeded the budget due to contracting with Jefferson County. Alexy said she hired a new staff member in April who is currently in training. She told the committee her office is on target for performance measures.
Supervisor Dennis Pocernich asked whether arrears collection is handled internally or by an outside agency; Alexy said collections are handled internally.
