The Lindenhurst Village Board on May 9 approved three service agreements and a procurement to address public-safety facility needs, municipal communications, and sewer infrastructure.
Trustees voted unanimously to authorize a space-needs study by Kluber Architects and Engineers for the Police Department evidence and property room at a cost not to exceed $11,220. The study will include a floor plan design and an estimate of construction costs to address security, safety and access deficiencies identified by police staff.
The board also authorized a website redesign and hosting contract with Revize for a cost not to exceed $33,100. Staff told the board that Revize was selected after reviewing four providers for pricing, design, and compatibility with Village software.
For infrastructure, Village public works requested reintroduction of a third pump at Lift Station #5 on Haven Lane because flows have increased as new homes in the Briargate subdivision have been occupied; staff said the station currently handles about 45% of the community’s flow. To ensure compatibility with existing Xylem Flygt equipment, staff asked the board to waive competitive bidding. Trustee Pat Dunham moved, seconded by Trustee Ron Grace, to waive bidding and authorize the purchase and installation of the pump for an amount not to exceed $64,500; the motion passed by roll call vote 5–0.
For fiscal context, Trustee Pat Dunham read the Treasurer’s Report noting, “The total for all accounts on April 30, 2022 was $12,619,805.19.” The board also approved final FY2021–22 bills of $178,693.77 and the first set of May FY2022–23 bills of $317,126.42 earlier in the meeting.
The meeting record shows each contract and procurement was approved unanimously; the record does not include construction schedules for the evidence room or lift station work, nor a website launch timeline. The board adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
