Lindenhurst board approves interfund transfers, $19,500 community survey contract and proclaims ALS Awareness Month

The board adopted Resolution 26-5-2338R to move excess cash from operational funds into capital project funds to finance new capital projects and initiatives. Trustee Pat Dunham moved to adopt the resolution; Trustee Ron Grace seconded and the motion carried by roll call (Aye — Trustees Pat Dickson, Pat Dunham, Dawn Suchy and Ron Grace; Nay — 0).
The board also approved a not-to-exceed $19,500 contract with ETC Institute to develop a village-wide community survey. Trustee Dawn Suchy moved and Trustee Ron Grace seconded authorization for the Village Administrator to execute the proposal; the motion passed by roll call. Meeting materials noted NuStats, the village's prior survey provider, has ceased operations and ETC Institute was selected as a replacement to gather resident perceptions on staff, services and initiatives to inform the village's strategic planning.
Trustee Pat Dickson moved and Trustee Ron Grace seconded a proclamation naming May 2026 as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Awareness Month. The board approved the proclamation by roll call. During public comment, Lindenhurst resident Kelly Goodman, who identified herself as an ALS advocate following her husband's death, thanked the board and pointed listeners to I AM ALS (iamals.org) for information and support.
Other business handled included approval of the treasurer's report and voucher registers for end of FY26 and the start of FY27 earlier in the meeting, mayoral appointments to village boards and commissions, and the adjournment at 7:54 p.m.
