Belgrade trustees approve administrative pay reclassification, election call and several policy updates

At its regularly scheduled meeting the Belgrade School District Board approved a personnel reclassification, adopted several updated governance policies and called for the May 5, 2026 trustee election.

Personnel action: Trustee 3 moved to reclassify the district office administrative assistant from level 1‑AA to level 3‑AA to reflect added responsibilities. Administration told the board the move would raise the starting salary for a candidate with three years' experience from $39,603 at level 1 to $44,221 at level 3, an increase of roughly $4,600 annually. After discussion about relative pay equity with building secretaries, the board approved the reclassification 4–1.

Election resolution and policy updates: The board then adopted a resolution calling for trustees' election on May 5, 2026 and included language to call potential levies and a bond with the option to amend by Feb. 24. Trustees agreed to adopt the blanket resolution to preserve options and remove items later if they choose. The board also adopted recommended revisions to Policy 11‑30 (committees), Policy 12‑10 (board officers), Policy 12‑30 (clerk duties relevant to STARS Act funding) and Policy 15‑31 (trustee expenses). All four policy updates passed by voice vote reported as unanimous.
