The board discussed a citizen request for a sidewalk along Bridal; staff explained the property‑owner participation requirement for cost‑sharing and said the proposal was tabled while staff returned with property‑owner input and cost estimates. Members noted that Montana Department of Transportation corridor plans (a 2028 planning horizon was referenced) should influence which side of Highway 212 sidewalks or trails are installed.
Staff and the mayor described the city's intent to pursue federal mitigation funds for an "Eagles Nest" acquisition and demolition project to remove flood‑prone structures on two parcels. Staff said the application package requires a letter of commitment from the city and noted two application deadlines: the FEMA GO upload target (staff aimed for July 2) and a Montana DES application deadline in early July; the FMA application to DES was described as due July 10. Staff said Red Lodge is a sub‑applicant to state DES and that DES will perform eligibility reviews; staff also encouraged letters of support from local boards and residents and suggested that email submissions would be acceptable.
