Eatonville council approves CRA appointment and internal leadership resolutions

The Eatonville Town Council passed a series of procedural resolutions Thursday night that filled agency and council seats and confirmed internal leadership.

By voice vote the council approved Resolution 2026-18, appointing Angela Johnson to the Town of Eatonville Community Redevelopment Agency (TOCRA). Mayor (speaker 2) nominated Johnson and the motion was moved and seconded; the mayor called for the ayes and the motion carried.

The council then approved Resolution 2026-17 to appoint Councilwoman Angela Thomas as vice mayor. The mayor nominated Thomas, a motion and second were recorded, and the body approved the appointment by voice vote.

Council also agreed to Resolution 2026-20, designating the vice chair of TOCRA; the mayor said the council traditionally expects the mayor and vice mayor to serve as chair and vice chair of TOCRA and nominated Vice Mayor Thomas for the vice chair role. The motion passed by voice vote.

Separately, the council moved to fill a vacancy on the Planning & Zoning Board by elevating alternate number one, Trevor Cobb, to a permanent seat; the motion was moved, seconded and approved.

The actions were presented during the council-decision portion of the meeting; each item was introduced with a preamble and passed by voice vote without roll call tallies recorded in the public audio.

The council’s approval immediately fills several seats used in upcoming permitting and redevelopment discussions, including TOCRA and Planning & Zoning.
