Chair Andrea Treadway opened a special budget session Nov. 10 and led a line‑by‑line review that produced several upward adjustments to the draft 2026 budget.
Road Foreman Allen M. Alger told the board that the excavator uses about 50 gallons of fuel a day and the town’s truck, with in‑house sand hauling, burns about 75 gallons a day. Based on that usage, Chair Andrea Treadway said the town will ask fuel vendors to change the bid quantity from 6,500 gallons to 10,000 gallons; the Fuel & Oil line was raised from $38,000 to $42,000.
The board penciled Highway Payroll at $250,250 and Library Payroll at $61,569, each reflecting a 4% increase. Andrea Treadway said retirement figures for town payrolls still need to be recalculated. Fire Truck debt service was listed as $37,800 plus $7,500 in interest on the worksheets, and the regular meeting later approved a fire truck note payment of $45,339.28.
Other operating adjustments included raising Dues & Fees to $21,000 to account for regional planning and county dues, setting Election Fees at $500, and increasing Legal Fees to $7,500. Emergency Management Training of $1,000 was identified for Sandy Korda.
Les Wood moved to adjourn the special budget session at 7:00 p.m.; Joe Pouliot seconded and the motion passed 4–0. The Select Board scheduled a continuation of the budget meeting for Nov. 24, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
At the regular meeting immediately following, the board approved payment of the General Fund Orders ($51,881.69), Sewer Orders ($231.67), the Fire Truck Note Payment ($45,339.28) and the Town payroll; Les Wood moved, Rob Barnes seconded, and the motion passed 4–0.
The board left several items to be finalized at the Nov. 24 budget session, including the exact retirement calculations for payroll lines and the final fuel bid specifications.
