The chair of the Canby Parks & Recreation advisory committee announced an immediate resignation during the July meeting and said a written resignation would be emailed to board members, city council and the city administrator.
After the announcement, members discussed interim leadership and nominated Ryan Oliver as interim chair. A motion to nominate Oliver was made and seconded; the committee approved the appointment by a hand-raise, with the chair calling the tally and noting four raised hands in favor. Committee members said they would schedule a formal election at the next meeting when more members are present.
The committee did not record a formal roll-call vote in the meeting transcript; members asked staff to include a formal election on the next meeting agenda so the change can be confirmed in full with all board members present.
