Councilmember Grant Godfrey moved to introduce the resolution as amended to allow vending between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., seven days a week, and to change the code language from “vending permits” to “vending licenses.” Councilmember Mary Gathercole seconded the motion. The motion was carried unanimously.
During discussion, council members expressed concern about potential abuse by other vendors, limiting operating hours, and noise impacts. Town Attorney Suellen Ferguson suggested the council could limit the time frame as part of the amendment. The resolution was introduced for future council consideration and public process; no final adoption occurred at the June 22 meeting.
