University Park Council approves $595,000 design contract and $252,000 project‑management contract for new Town Hall

The University Park Mayor and Common Council on June 22 approved two contracts to advance construction of a new Town Hall.
Council approved a contract with Frederick Ward and Associates, Inc., in substantially the form attached, not to exceed $595,000 to design and assist in zoning approval, permitting and construction of Town Hall, subject to review by Town Attorney Suellen Ferguson. Councilmember William Sweet moved the motion; Councilmember David McGaughey seconded it. The motion carried unanimously.
The council also approved a contract with Redgate Real Estate Advisors, LLC to serve as project manager for design approval, permitting, contract management and construction of Town Hall, not to exceed $252,000, again subject to Town Attorney review. Sweet made the motion; Councilmember Cynthia Mowery seconded. That motion also carried unanimously.
Ferguson confirmed both contracts will be reviewed by the Town Attorney before final execution. The council did not set further terms or a construction schedule during the meeting.
The approvals follow prior committee discussion of public facilities leadership and come as the town transitions committee leadership for the next term.
