Hartland Selectboard extends daycare lease, renews nursery lease and approves $27,036 for fire station furnace

Phil Hobbie said he had met with the proposed tenants and raised questions about lease length, rental costs, operating expenses, attendance and safety; after discussion Jim moved to approve the six-month extension, Clyde Jenne seconded, and the board voted unanimously to adopt the motion.
The board also renewed the Hartland Cooperative Nursery School lease for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026. According to the meeting record, the lease is materially the same as last year but now includes lead and asbestos testing. The board member identified as Tom (Thomas Kennedy, Vice Chair) moved to approve the renewal; Clyde Jenne seconded and the motion passed with all present voting in favor.
On a public-safety item, John Sanders, Chief of the Hartland Fire Department, presented two quotes and explained the need to replace the furnace at the Route 12 Fire Station (Station #1). The Selectboard approved an allocation of $27,036 to cover the replacement; the motion was made and seconded and carried unanimously.
Procedural business that passed at the meeting included acceptance of the minutes from the June 16 meeting and acceptance of town orders through June 30; the minutes record that corrections should be specified when proposed.
