So I would say as far as status, they're keeping up," Ryker said, describing weekly coordination with the contractor and city management.
Board members flagged two dates in the contractor's schedule. One board member (Committee member) noted that "September 11 is substantial completion, right? And the final is October 2 because the October 2 is shown on Line 2 of the lift station construction." Ryker and management clarified the contractor's intended milestones: Ryker said the contractor's schedule listed August 18 for substantial completion and a September 11 closeout.
Brian Lucorio, who has been providing site updates for management, explained the source of the conflicting October 2 date: "It's a function of the software that we're using. Most scheduling softwares, you can either have an automatic or a manual deadline... line number 2 lift station construction has got an old deadline pulling it to October 2, but it's not based on the subtasks below it. So we can clean that up with our next pay request." Lucorio said the furthest activity on the schedule is paving and that substantial completion lines are based on the facility being usable for its intended purpose.
The discussion did not record a formal board action to change contract dates during the public portion of the meeting; staff and the contractor's representatives said they would correct the schedule entries on forthcoming pay requests and weekly reports. The board asked for clarity on the schedule and the difference between "substantial completion" and final closeout, and staff confirmed they would continue weekly coordination.
The discussion began as part of a broader agenda item about Change Order No. 4 for Corio Incorporated regarding an extension to the completed/completion date for the 2700 lift station. Board members pressed staff for the contractor's most recent schedule; staff and the engineer reiterated that the schedule provided after the June meeting superseded the earlier October 2 line.
