New Rockford reviews 4-year water rate proposal; commissioners to revisit in February

City Auditor Andrew Presnell presented a four-year proposal for increases to the city's water rates at the Jan. 6 City Commission meeting, saying the plan was prepared based on the commission's earlier requests. Commissioners discussed the proposal briefly and were asked to review the details before the Feb. 3 meeting for further consideration.
Presnell's report at the meeting also included routine items: he said he will be out Tuesday through Friday and reported the lagoon discharge report is complete. During his presentation he also noted a compliance issue with the North Dakota Public Employee Retirement System (NDPERS) related to deferred compensation reports dating to April 2014; Presnell said he would complete the missing monthly reports to return the city to compliance.
No vote or final decision on the water-rate proposal was recorded at the Jan. 6 meeting; the commission set the item for additional review in February.
