CROG outlines Metropolitan Transportation Plan 2055 outreach and timeline

CROG staff told the Transportation Committee on July 20, 2026, that the region’s Metropolitan Transportation Plan (outlook year 2055) is under update and will include public outreach this summer and fall.
Kara said the agency has a visioning survey currently open and will share the link in the meeting chat. Staff attended July outreach events, including Enfield’s Fourth of July celebration, and plan additional stops at farmers markets and community events; a virtual public meeting is planned for September and consultant presentations to the committee and policy board are slated for September as well.
"We currently do have a visioning survey open. We'll share that link in the chat," Kara said, and encouraged committee members to distribute the survey to capture local priorities.
Staff said the update has a tight turnaround: a draft plan will be released for review in February and the plan must be endorsed and adopted by March 2027. The process will include stakeholder focus groups in the fall and opportunities for committee feedback prior to adoption.
What’s next: CROG will circulate the survey link and schedule for public meetings; the committee will review the draft in early 2027 as staff and consultants refine the plan.
