Trustees asked how Haines intended to separate prior administrative roles from the governance role of a trustee; Haines said she expected "some growing to do" and described the appointment as a learning opportunity where she would contribute experience while respecting the board’s collective responsibilities.
Denise Juneau moved to select Virginia Haines; Jenny Walsh seconded the motion. Trustees present voted unanimously to appoint Haines. The board noted Haines will take the formal oath of office at a later date before participating in votes.
