Rachael Reynolds elected chair of Helix School District budget committee; Zack Buckley named vice chair

Rachael Reynolds was elected chair of the Helix School District Budget Committee and Zack Buckley was elected vice chair during the committee’s April 28, 2026 meeting in Helix. Both elections passed by unanimous vote of members present.
The committee’s outgoing presiding officer, Board Chair Larry Parker, opened the meeting and welcomed committee members. Paul Bracher nominated Rachael Reynolds for chair; Kathy Jones seconded the nomination and the committee voted unanimously to elect her. Paul Bracher then nominated Zack Buckley for vice chair; Friday Bracher seconded that nomination and the motion also passed unanimously.
Two committee members, Todd Thorne and Bobby Corey, were noted as excused at the start of the meeting. After the elections, newly elected Budget Committee Chair Rachael Reynolds turned the meeting over to budget presenter Brad Bixler to deliver the budget message and review the proposed 2026–27 budget.
The leadership votes were procedural and carried without dissent. The committee then proceeded to a presentation and review of the district’s proposed budget.
