Resident warns board that road reconstruction could take yard or driveway space

During the public comment period at the Aug. 5, 2025 Silver Creek Township Board meeting, resident Ryan Soderholm raised concerns about a planned road reconstruction.
Soderholm said the township’s right-of-way (ROW) does not line up with the current road and that, as a result, reconstruction could remove yard or driveway space on his property. He also asked that the regraded road not be raised because access is already difficult. The minutes record that a drainage easement across the south side of his property was discussed and that Soderholm said he would be willing to work with the township on that easement.
The minutes do not record a board response, commitment to a design change, or any vote on the road project during this meeting. The concern remains a matter for future staff follow-up or agenda items if the township proceeds with engineering or right-of-way decisions.
