Steve, the library director, described multiple park maintenance quotes and said his priority was addressing flood and drainage risks at the front of the site. "So that the areas that we're look we're looking at doing River Rock is a total of $1,300," he said, listing the two items the board identified as highest priority.
Board members discussed whether to approve piecemeal small repairs or package work and whether the library's existing park-maintenance fund and trust accounts should be used. The chair (speaker 1) moved to take $1,300 from restricted park/patron funds; after discussion the motion was seconded and advanced.
Separately, board members agreed to close the restricted patrons' park fund (Library Trust / Patron Park Fund) and transfer the balance for park use. The motion to close the fund passed by voice vote.
The board asked staff to prioritize work that reduces water infiltration and to seek additional quotes and potential grant sources for larger park projects. Implementation will proceed under the director's direction and within available restricted funds.
