City staff presented a proposed partnership with Urban Chestnut Brewery to host pop‑up events in Brentwood Park as a proof‑of‑concept for the summer. Staff said Urban Chestnut plans to operate most Wednesdays in July from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., bringing a truck, some seating and occasional themed nights such as trivia or bingo.
Staff told the board Urban Chestnut will pay the $100 fee required by the city's food‑truck policy. In addition, staff said the brewery plans to introduce a special Brentwood Park beer tap and the city would receive 10% of sales from that tap; those proceeds would be deposited in the Brentwood Park maintenance and liquidity fund.
The board moved to approve the special‑use/consent item authorizing the pop‑ups and the motion carried by voice vote. Staff described the arrangement as a proof of concept; future, more permanent partnerships would be evaluated after the trial.
The arrangement is scheduled to start in July and staff said proceeds from the tap will support park maintenance.
