Joan Ferguson, trustee of the Concord Land Conservation Trust, and property owner Morris Tyler presented an amendment to a 2009 conservation restriction on 216 Westford Road.
Ferguson explained the 2007 and 2009 restrictions reserved the property for open space and agriculture, but a mapping oversight in 2009 omitted a reserved planting strip on the eastern boundary. The amendment replaces the older plan with an updated survey and allows an 18-foot-wide planting area of predominantly deciduous field-edge species on the eastern and southeastern sides (not along the Westford Road frontage), restoring a vegetative screen the parties intended to preserve.
The Natural Resources Commission issued municipal certification and the Massachusetts Division of Conservation Services reviewed and revised the draft. S2 moved to approve the amendment as presented in the meeting packet; S3 seconded. The board voted in favor. Documents will be signed and notarized and returned to state authorities for finalization.
