The Village of Bloomington board approved Pay Application #8 to JI Construction for $249,920 for paving work on Wall Street, the village president announced after an engineering update.
Delta 3 Engineering, in an update from Mark Digman, reported Wall Street is approximately 75% complete and outlined project extras — including a fill site (~$66,000), storm sewer on Spruce Road (~$15,000), paving on West Court Street (~$40,000), added water services and laterals (~$15,000), and tree removals (~$4,000) — totaling roughly $140,000 in added items. Digman said his earlier estimate of about $70,000 above the construction contract has come down to about $55,000 given current accounting of extras.
Trustee Dennis Moris made the motion to approve the pay application; Trustee Alan Mergen seconded, and the board voted to approve the payment.
The engineering update and payment approval follow a schedule of additional small items and cleanup work the contractor expects to finish by June 6. The board did not change the project scope at the meeting; members discussed added items and accepted the pay application as presented.
The village will continue to receive project status updates from Delta 3 Engineering and review final costs when the contract is closed out.
