Belleair Shores — The Town of Belleair Shores commission unanimously adopted Ordinance 2024-01 on second reading at its Oct. 15 meeting, approving updated maps for the town's comprehensive plan.
Attorney Lewis read Ordinance 2024-01 by title during the advertised public hearing. Linda Fisher of Forward Pinellas addressed the commission to summarize map revisions completed after the first reading. Mayor Blume said the maps have been updated as requested at the first hearing.
Commissioner Tolbert moved to adopt the ordinance on second reading; Vice Mayor Storie seconded and the voice vote was unanimous. Attorney Lewis said that, if adopted, the ordinance will be returned to the state for one additional review as part of the statutory approval process.
The vote completes the town-level steps for the map updates; the next step is the state review required under the planning process.
