The Town of Belleair Shores commission adopted a tentative millage rate of 0.5345 and approved the tentative FY2024/25 budget at a Sept. 11 public hearing in Belleair Bluffs.
Mayor Blume read Resolution 2024-04 by title and said the proposed millage of 0.5345, if adopted, is greater than the rollback rate of 0.4983 mills by 7.26%. After opening the hearing for comment and receiving none, Vice Mayor Storie moved to adopt Resolution 2024-04 and the tentative millage rate; Commissioner Tolbert seconded and the commission approved the motion by unanimous voice vote.
Mayor Blume then read Resolution 2024-05 adopting the tentative FY2024/25 budget and opened for comment. Commissioner Tolbert asked whether the Public Safety figure included all services; Town Clerk Mary Palmer responded that it did. With no further public or commission comments, Commissioner Tolbert moved to adopt Resolution 2024-05 and the tentative budget, Vice Mayor Storie seconded, and the voice vote was unanimous.
Mayor Blume closed the public hearing. With no further agenda items, Commissioner Tolbert moved to adjourn the meeting, Vice Mayor Storie seconded, and the commission adjourned by unanimous voice vote. The minutes were signed by Town Clerk Mary Palmer.
