Chief Small said parking citations were issued after recent snowfall and that parking complaints near Ma’s Bakery prompted review of enforcement options. He reported a Fourth Street search-warrant inspection found 13 dogs at a single residence, exceeding the five-dog limit in village code; one citation was dismissed after a complainant withdrew, and Chief Small said he intends to issue eight citations once new citation software is fully operational.
On snow removal and parking rules, Chief Small told the board signs for a 48-hour parking rule and no-parking signs for Union Street near apartments have been ordered to help ensure emergency-vehicle access. He recommended installing alternate-side parking signs this season with enforcement to begin next winter and was directed to work with Clerk/Treasurer Shawna Atterbury and the village attorney to draft revised snow-removal and parking ordinances for a future meeting.
The board discussed the public-safety implications of an overburdened porch at a dilapidated Canal Street house (524 Canal St.) and supported asking the building inspector to issue correction notices with a spring deadline for repairs.
