Clerk Atterbury said the permit, previously approved, expired in August. Trustees voiced concern that finishing bathrooms in the feed mill could indicate a conversion toward residential use and might present sewer system problems if inappropriate items were flushed. Dennis Moris and others recommended consulting Building Inspector Josh Copsey and asking the property owner for a detailed written plan clarifying intended use.
President Robert McLimans proposed postponement so he could consult Copsey; trustees agreed that no work should proceed until the permit is reapproved. The board asked staff to request written plans from the owner and to return the item for decision at the November meeting.
The board’s guidance leaves potential enforcement or permitting remedies contingent on the building inspector’s assessment and any required plan submissions from the property owner.
