S5 reviewed sections of the town plan calling for landowner education, workshops, and partnerships with organizations including the Nature Museum and the Vermont Biodiversity Alliance.
Board members agreed the issue warranted further attention but said implementation would require more detail and potential budget commitments. S3 suggested creating an interested group or focus group, and asked for estimates of time and cost: "What would help the board is if someone said, this is gonna take this much time and this much money, and Yep. This is what we gotta do, and this is stage 1, and this is stage 2." Officials recommended leveraging volunteers and local organizations for low-cost education steps; the highway crew indicated routine equipment-cleaning practices are already in use to limit seed spread.
No specific funding or formal program was approved at the meeting. The board encouraged the planning commission and interested volunteers to draft a recommended scope and budget, and to present options to the board for future consideration.
