Select Board authorizes municipal planning grant application to update Grafton Town Plan

At its Nov. 3 meeting, the Grafton Select Board approved a motion to submit a municipal planning grant application to the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development to support an update of the Grafton Town Plan.
S7 (town administrator) said the application was due the day of the meeting and asked the board to sign a resolution giving the town permission to seek the funding and naming the town administrator as the municipal authorizing official. "It would just be a motion to approve the municipal reservation for the municipal planning grant used to update the Grafton Town Plan," S7 said.
Board members agreed the planning commission had been working on a plan update and that grant funding could be used to hire a consultant to lead the update. S3 moved to approve the form and authorization; the board voted in favor.
No dollar amounts for the grant were recorded in the meeting transcript. The board asked the planning commission and town staff to follow up with a clear scope, timeline and budget estimate to enable future budget decisions and public input. If awarded, the town administrator will be responsible for signing grant agreements on the town's behalf.
