The Belleair Beach Parks & Recreation Committee reviewed volunteer beach‑cleanup assignments and park‑survey plans Wednesday, assigning members to monthly cleanups and agreeing to update existing park‑survey reports rather than start from scratch.
The committee confirmed the beach cleanup meets the first Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m., assembling at the 19th Street access. Members volunteered for specific months (John and Patty were assigned for an upcoming month; others took January, March and May) and emphasized the need for a lead person to pick up the cooler, paperwork and to document the event with photos.
On park reviews, the committee said it will use the existing report format and prior years’ reports (dating back to 2020) to update observations—safety checks, aesthetic condition and amenities—rather than build a new template. Members will take pictures, note hazards and submit observations to staff (Aaron and Kyle) for repairs; the committee indicated a goal of completing updated observations by late January/February so staff can act before peak spring growth.
The committee also scheduled its next meeting for Dec. 9 at 2:00 p.m. and adjourned at 3:37 p.m.
