The Belleair Beach Parks & Recreation Committee set the town’s Health & Wellness Fair for March 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and established a $25 vendor fee, committee members said Wednesday.
Committee members discussed outreach to a wide range of providers — chiropractors, dentists, yoga instructors, massage therapists, local spas, and fitness vendors such as Stretch Labs — and asked staff to prepare a sponsor/solicitation letter members could use when recruiting vendors. Patty said Kathy will produce a standard letter members can take to prospective vendors.
Members also discussed inviting the Veterans Administration and BayCare but noted a legal question about charging or receiving donations from a federal entity; staff said they would check policy. A committee member said BayCare and local clinics would be good additions and others volunteered to contact previous vendors from past fairs.
The committee asked members to bring additional vendor names and to use the prepared letter when soliciting participants. The committee also discussed logistics including the vendor fee to cover supplies and signage, the vendor selection process (to avoid duplicate booths), and reuse of banners and signs for future events.
What happens next: Kathy will circulate the solicitation letter and the committee will follow up with prospective vendors; staff will confirm whether a federal agency such as the VA can be charged or otherwise participate under current town policy.
