Hubbard Police awarded third accreditation by Northwest Accreditation Alliance

Scott Hayes, executive director of the Northwest Accreditation Alliance, presented the Hubbard Police Department with its third accreditation and congratulated the department for meeting national best-practice standards.
"Accreditation is 1 step towards building community trust and the legitimacy of our profession," Hayes said as he outlined the Alliance's review process, which requires agencies to comply with roughly 110 law-enforcement standards, demonstrate proof of compliance with policies, and show adherence to relevant Oregon statutes and administrative rules. He noted reaccreditation occurs every three years.
Hayes singled out accreditation manager Molly Swartz for her work preparing the agency for assessment and referenced the department's leadership under Chief Parisi. The presentation emphasized that accreditation supports accountability, transparency and operational management through external evaluation.
The council thanked Hayes for dialing in and congratulated the police department. No council action was required; Hayes offered to answer questions and closed his remarks.
