Marineland staff report CivicPlus documents center integration and weigh Smart City platform

Town Clerk and Comptroller Wilshem Pennick told the Commission on May 21 that the town is developing a Documents Center within the CivicPlus platform and that some file-management tasks will need to be repeated while the platform is integrated.
Pennick said the long-term benefits include easier upkeep once CivicPlus is fully developed and noted the Commission should consider additional CivicPlus product offerings. Vice Mayor Douglas “Dewey” Dew Jr. introduced a Smart City Management Platform concept for consideration, describing its potential role in asset management, infrastructure life-cycle tracking and financial operations.
Commissioners discussed potential benefits and the need to align any platform adoption with existing record-keeping and procurement practices. No formal procurement decisions were made during the workshop.
