The Goddard Planning Commission voted on Jan. 12 to approve both a preliminary and a final replat for the Goddard North Park area. Staff said the replat captures additional land around an existing pond to make future maintenance and management more practicable.
Staff explained the dashed line shown on the plat is the FEMA flood boundary and that most adjustments are intended to consolidate property lines around the pond and trade small parcels with owners; in one case property owners preferred additional land rather than cash compensation. A commissioner asked for clarification on how far the flood line extends and how drainage from nearby development will be managed; staff and consultants described how the oversized detention cells in nearby developments are intended to intercept additional runoff.
The planning commission moved and approved the preliminary replat for Goddard North Park and later approved the final replat by voice vote. The action will allow the city to record the corrected property configuration with the county.
