Henderson commits roughly $4,000 to regional transit authority feasibility study

City Manager Dylan Ward told the Board of Commissioners on Jan. 27 that the MPO is finalizing engagement of a consultant to complete a feasibility study on establishing a regional transit authority. The total contract is estimated at about $200,000; Henderson’s share was described as roughly $4,000 with grants and matching funds considered.
Commissioner Kelsey Hargis moved to provide the city’s funding share for the study; Commissioner Robert Pruitt seconded the motion. On roll call the motion passed with the present commissioners voting Aye and Commissioner Thomas absent.
City staff said grant funding and matching contributions are being considered to cover the overall cost; commissioners approved the city’s portion to participate in the study and advance regional transit planning.
