Goddard recognizes long‑serving deputy city clerk and swears in City Clerk designee

At the Jan. 27 meeting the council and staff recognized Lorie DeVaney for more than 20 years of service to the City of Goddard. Brooke Carroll, chief financial officer, praised DeVaney’s professionalism and presented her with a plaque honoring her tenure and service in roles including accounts payable clerk and deputy city clerk.
Brooke Carroll told the council the city deemed it necessary to appoint Stephanie Guy as City Clerk Designee to serve in the absence of Sarah Simon and after DeVaney’s retirement; DeVaney administered the swearing‑in ceremony for Guy during the meeting.
Councilmembers offered personal congratulations during governing body comments, and staff noted the city will proceed with final personnel transitions and related administrative updates.
