Board President Kelly Booton and trustees approved designating Monday, May 5, 2025, as a non-student contact date so the district can host a 10:00 a.m. junior high invitational track meet. Board members said the district remains above state-required student contact hours despite five snow days this winter.
The board selected option C for the 2025-26 one-page calendar after administrators reported that a Meet-and-Confer survey showed 82% of respondents favored that option. Ben Schrag moved to approve the calendar; Patrick Flaming seconded the motion, which carried 7-0.
Trustees also approved the K-12 Albert plan. According to the minutes, administrators and the district's K-12 representative negotiated terms and costs prior to the board vote. Ben Schrag moved approval of the plan; Kyle Funk seconded the motion, which passed 7-0.
The board approved three out-of-state student trips: an eighth-grade trip to Steamboat Arabia in Kansas City, Mo.; a junior-high incentive trip to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.; and a senior trip to Branson, Mo. Patrick Flaming moved approval; Bryant Miller seconded, and the motion carried 7-0.
All motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously. The board adjourned at 8:48 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
