Council notes airport grant submission, certifies 2025 wind energy attestation, and adjourns

At the Feb. 2 meeting Administrator Stacy Barnes told the council she had submitted the city's Kansas Airport Improvement Grant application as approved at the prior meeting and attached the annual wind energy attestation for 2025, which the packet states certifies that the city's electricity was generated through wind energy credits for that year.
Barnes also summarized recent Public Works activity, including emptying and cleaning the salt-brine tank at the water treatment plant, painting inside a vacant Incubator space, snow removal and keeping water wells and the sewer lift station operating through recent cold weather. She noted the next regular council meeting would be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17, rather than Monday, Feb. 16, because of the President's Day holiday; trash pickup would remain on Wednesday because the contractor Nisly does not observe the holiday.
Councilmember Jason West praised Public Works for sign replacement and snow removal work but said N. Sycamore had been missed; staff cleared it shortly after the comment and attributed the miss to a miscommunication between two drivers. Mayor Matt Christenson adjourned the meeting at 6:20 p.m.
