Lake Saint Louis board adopts three ordinances for police vests, stormwater work and a park tree walk

The Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen on June 15 unanimously passed three ordinances addressing public safety, stormwater infrastructure and a parks forestry project.
Alderman Chris Hinkle moved and Alderman Bill Behr seconded to adopt Bill No. 5129, which accepts a grant award from the U.S. Department of Justice Bulletproof Vest Partnership; the ordinance was assigned No. 4898 and approved on a board poll of Hinkle, Behr, Bilkey, Coyne and Schauer (Alderman Justin Hensley absent). The readings for Bill No. 5129 were authorized at the meeting prior to adoption.
The board also approved Bill No. 5130, awarding a contract to Semke Grading and Pipe Works for the Fernwood Storm Water Improvement Project. The second reading and adoption were carried by the same five-member affirmative poll; Bill No. 5130 was assigned Ordinance No. 4899.
Finally, the board adopted Bill No. 5131 to accept a grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Community Forestry Cost Share Program to support a Tree Walk Project at Deer Ridge Park. The ordinance was assigned No. 4900 following unanimous board approval on the second reading.
All three measures were advanced after motions by Alderman Hinkle with seconds from Alderman Behr and were recorded as unanimous among the five aldermen present. The minutes and motions record the formal poll of the board for each adoption as: ayes — Hinkle, Behr, Bilkey, Coyne, Schauer; nays — none; Alderman Hensley absent.
The ordinances do not list implementation dates or award amounts in the meeting record; staff will carry out next steps per the city’s standard administrative processes. The meeting recessed to an executive session for personnel matters and later reconvened.
