Agenda and consent: Nathan Charlton moved to approve the meeting agenda as presented; Mark Trummel seconded and the motion passed 4-0. Trummel then moved to approve the Consent Agenda; Charlton seconded and that motion passed 4-0.
Tourism Board appointment: The Tourism Board recommended Jeanie Finch to fill an unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2026. Mark Trummel moved to appoint Finch; Jason West seconded and the motion passed (recorded in the minutes as unanimous).
Insurance renewal: Jeanine Hassiepen of People's Insurance presented EMC renewal options for the 2026/27 policy year (effective April 1). The packet compared last year's blanket premium ($125,647) with two coinsurance options: 100% coinsurance at $128,952 and 90% coinsurance at $124,444. Wayne Keeton moved to approve the 2026/27 EMC insurance renewal at 100% coinsurance for a premium of $128,952; David (Dave) Vernon seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
No other formal votes or ordinances were adopted at the March 2 meeting; staff will return to Council with draft ordinances and proposals on topics discussed.
